Board Updates

Board elections were held in July, and we have some new Board members to introduce you to.

Chris Vanderbilt, Chapter President: It is an honor to serve as your Chapter President this fiscal year through July 2023. I will be working hard to ensure ISM-Denver operates efficiently, effectively, and provides the best content to membership possible.

Micki Warner, Vice-President: I’m thrilled to contribute to this professional community. My focus this year will be our sponsorship program and creating value for our sponsors and members.

Katie Hartwig, Treasurer: My passion for Supply Chain started in college with a required course followed by a purchasing internship. After 9 years, in procurement for residential construction, I followed a dream of working for an organization with one of the largest Global Supply Chains which has re-fueled my passion. Switching industries opened me up to new processes, requirements, etc. that I needed to learn and ISM has been a great resource. In my free time I enjoy taking in all the summer activities Colorado has to offer.

Grace Sims, Secretary: I have over 25 years of experience in Supply Chain in industries ranging from Telecommunications, Contract Manufacturing, Medical Device, and Disposables, and Self-service Kiosk Solutions. I also hold a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University. It is my pleasure to serve as the Secretary this fiscal year through July 2023.

Jeff Claxton, Past President: I will utilize my past experiences as President to provide a historical and current guide to helping our chapter grow and move forward.

Ginger Young, Executive Director: Certified Purchasing Executive with over 20 years’ experience specializing in contracts administration, strategic procurement planning, and project/supply chain management. I enjoy kayaking in Lake Windsor, BBQing in our Traeger, trying new recipes and enjoying Northern Colorado!

Migration to ISM World Website

ISM—Denver is an early adopter of the new ISM World website consolidation project, and our chapter website has moved to https://denver.ismworld.org. Be sure to update your bookmarks – the old website is no longer available.

This consolidation project comes with a few additional tasks: all ISM Chapters must update and provide ISM World with a revised and standardized chapter bylaws document, annual operating budget, calendar of events/training, and tax forms. This document standardization exercise will help bolster the organization of chapter as a whole and enable ISM World to continue to provide premium training content to its members.

Membership Engagement & Partnership Program

Members are the core of our organization, and funding lets our Board develop new training and events for members. This year, various Board members will be working to connect with our members to understand how we can better retain and grow the community and embark on a funding & sponsorship drive to generate funds needs to operate more effectively. Please visit the Membership page online for more information on the benefits of membership and how to join.

If you are interested in your company being a sponsor of ISM—Denver, then contact: Ginger Young or Micki Warner.

In-Person Meetings

As the COVID restrictions have lifted, we will be planning an in-person meeting to kickoff this new fiscal year. You can come meet the ISM Denver board and fellow ISM—Denver members!

Call for Volunteers

The Board consists of volunteers, and we are in need of more members to assist with the various projects and activities we have planned. This is a great way to connect with the local procurement and supply chain community! If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities, please reach out to Chris Vanderbilt or Micki Warner.
